This page provides information on how to reserve departmental rooms and general assignments rooms. To book a PSTAT Department-controlled room, use Libre Booking. For General Assignment classrooms, you may submit a request via Ad Astra.
Room Scheduling Policies
Some general policies apply for how rooms are intended to be used.
- The Sobel Seminar Room (SH 5607F) is reserved for seminars, events, faculty and staff usage.

The Graduate Conference Room/StatLab (SH 5421) is open for graduate student use.

The South Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room (SH 2421) is for graduate students and faculty.

Building 434 Room 113 and 109 is reserved for TA office hours.

Building 434 Room 126 is reserved for Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULAs) to hold their tutoring hours.
How to Reserve a PSTAT-Controlled Room
The PSTAT department uses its own room reservation system Libre Booking.

- New Users: Register for an account here: https://librebooking-docker.lscg.ucsb.edu/Web/register.php
- Access: This site requires you to be on campus or logged into the Ivanti Connect Secure Campus VPN
- Request Process:
- Go to Booked -> Schedule -> Bookings
- Drag a box on the desired date, time, and room.
- Complete and submit the pop-up form.
- Note: All requests require approval from the PSTAT department staff.
How to Reserve a Campus (Non-PSTAT) Room
Campus-wide General Assignment (GA) rooms are scheduled through Ad Astra.

- Login: Use your NetID and password
- Viewing Calendars:
- Find the calendar under Calendar -> Scheduling Grids.
- Change the view to daily or weekly.
- Filter for specific room types, such as "Collaborate" for computer labs.
- Requesting a Room:
- Submit a request here when you have found what will work best for you. Most requests will be an "Academic Department One-Time Room Request" which is associated with a course, i.e. PSTAT 120A Review Session.
- Requests must be submitted at least one week in advance.
- Assistance is available through the staff.
- You will receive emails when the request has been received and another email if it is approved.
- Important Note: Only faculty and instructors can book rooms using this request form.
