Opportunities for Undergraduates

The PSTAT Department offers a number of resources and opportunities to help students succeed in any of the majors. Students are encouraged to enhance their undergraduate experience by:

  • Conduct impactful research in statistics, data science, finance, and actuarial research.
  • Exploring student-run clubs and organizations.
  • Study your major abroad.

Why PSTAT?

Statistics is the study of numerical information or data. Statisticians determine what data to collect, how to collect it, and then examine and interpret the resulting numbers. Their skills are vital in Business, Economics, Finance, Communications, Biology, Marketing, Sociology, Psychology, etc. The demand for statisticians has been high in the past and only continues to rise.
