Prof. Alex Franks receives a new NIH/NSF grant

Assistant Professor Alexander Franks has received a joint DMS/NIGMS award as part of an NSF and NIH initiative to support research at the interface of biological and mathematical sciences.  His research proposal titled "Methods for Systematic Analysis of Post-transcriptional Regulation in Single Cells" is focused on developing statistical and machine learning methods for analyzing data about how individual cells regulate protein levels.  The award supports Alex and his collaborator at Northeastern University, Nikolai Slavov, for four years.
