Title: Some Heuristic Methods of Parameter Estimation in Linear and Nonlinear Models

Abstract: This presentation will consider the situation where the exact expressions of the estimators of the model parameters are not available based on all the data and the numerical methods are performed to obtain the estimates. Models for both discrete and continuous response variables will be discussed in presence of explanatory variables. The proposed heuristic methods and their statistical properties will be presented for these models. Performance of the proposed methods will also be demonstrated using simulations.
