Endowed Duncan Chair Professor Gareth W. Peters is selected by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Eminent Scholar Mentor at UMBC in
actuarial science, to mentor junior faculty in actuarial research from 2022-2024. 

Endowed Duncan Chair Professor Gareth W. Peters is selected as the International Strategic Advisor to Inter-University Research Institute Corporation Research Organization of Information and Systems(ROIS) for the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Tokyo Japan - 2022-2025.


Endowed Duncan Chair Professor Gareth W. Peters is selected as a 2023-2027 Senior Fellow at Centre for Unframed Thinking (CUT) at the Rennes Institute of Advanced Study, Rennes, France.


Endowed Duncan Chair Professor Gareth W. Peters was awarded the Peter Clarke prize from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). An award going back to 1891 awarded by the IFoA for outstanding actuarial research.

Distinguished Professor Jean-Pierre Fouque was elected a 2021 Louis Bachelier Fellow by the Institut Louis Bachelier, Paris

Professor Jammalamadaka is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from the Faculty of Forest Sciences, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden, in an elaborate ceremony held on October 6, 2012. The citation reads, in part, "Professor Jammalamadaka is a very well-known statistician with broad research interests which include both theoretical and applied statistics. His contacts with researchers in Sweden and at the Faculty of Forest Sciences over the past 25 years, resulted in significant research with practical impact as well as several Ph.D. theses at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences." Former recipients of this Honorary Doctoral degree in Forestry include His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, and Ingvar Kamprad, Swedish business magnate and the founder of IKEA.

Rao Jammalamadaka received a Distinguished Service Award from the International Indian Statistical Association (IISA) with the citation "For distinguished contributions to Statistics and dedicated service to the Association". He served as its President, the Chair of several Program Committees, and most recently as the Chair of the Nominations Committee.
