Applied Statistics Track

Applied Statistics is the right choice for students seeking a career or advanced graduate studies in a wide variety of fields. Graduates who have rigorous statistical training are in great demand in government, industry, business and research institutions. This is an excellent choice for students who like mathematics and computing, manipulating data, and an interest in real life applications. If you have an interest in the world of finance, banking, insurance or related fields, check the information on the B.S. Actuarial Science or B.S. in Financial Mathematics and Statistics degree.


Requirements for the Applied Statistics Concentration Track include:

  • 8 units from PSTAT 123, 131, 140, 174, 175
  • PSTAT 130
  • 12 elective units

Recommended preparation for major:

  • Two years of algebra
  • Courses in plane geometry and trigonometry at high school.
