Title: Applications of Markov type to infinite groups

Abstract: The notion of Markov type was introduced by Keith Ball in 1992, in the context of his profound study of the Lipschitz extension problem. In this talk we will discuss its applications to the study of the geometry of infinite groups and random walks on them. Based on joint work with Jeremie Brieussel and Yuval Peres.
