Department of Statistics and Applied Probability
A number of endowments have already been set up to
perpetually fund department activities and student awards. You are
also invited to donate funds directly to the department for a specific
purpose of your choice. Your donation may be tax deductible.

Center
for Research in Financial Mathematics and Statistics
The
CRFMS provides a forum for the scholarly exchange of ideas about
Financial Mathematics and Statistics through distinguished lectures,
seminars, conferences, scholarly meetings, and publications. The
Center sponsors postdoctoral scholarships for young researchers
working in the area of finance and arranges visits of more senior
internationally known scholars.
The Sobel Lecture Series
The Sobel Lecture endowment funds an annual lecture in memory of
Professor Milton Sobel. Past lectures are Professor
Rudy Beran, University of California, Davis and Elizabeth Thompson,
University of Washington, Seattle.

Ruth
and Joe Gani Prize
Awarded to a graduate student for excellence in research as selected
by the faculty. Contributions in any amount can be added to the
endowment.

to be applied to the "Gani Prize".
Rama Thogarati Memorial Prize
The Rama Thogarati Memorial Prize is awarded each year to a Senior
Undergraduate for academic excellence. The prize remembers Rama
Thogarti, a graduate student who died in an airplane accident.
Contributions in any amount can be added to the endowment.

Abraham Wald Memorial Prize
The Wald Prize is awarded each year for excellence in graduate studies
as selected by the faculty in memory of Dr. Abraham Wald,
eminent American statistician. Contributions in any amount can be
added to the endowment.
